Emphasizing that maritime education, where specialization is important, is a difficult and expensive education process, Selçuk noted that all countries developed in maritime in the world take the necessary measures to reach the conventions, protocols and high education standards set by the International Maritime Organization. Stating that these countries equip their ships with modern vehicles and systems and train their personnel according to training programs developed for service both at sea and on land, Minister Selçuk said, “This is why we care about the development of necessary trainings in this field on behalf of my Ministry in order for our country to have a say in the maritime sector.” said.

Within the framework of this cooperation initiated to contribute to the development and growth of the maritime sector, which has an important mission in the development of the country, Selçuk organizes a council with a wide participation in which the needs and expectations of the maritime sector and maritime education and problems in vocational high schools will be discussed, thus ensuring a common consensus and a solution-oriented approach. Minister Selçuk stated that those who are eligible for the field of maritime courses will be educated by instructors and experts determined by the Chamber of Shipping for the Istanbul and Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Black Sea Regions, and that successful students will be awarded scholarships, graduates who are deemed eligible to receive higher education in departments that are the continuation of their field. He stated that they will support students by providing scholarships during their higher education.

Stating that they will ensure that the maritime curriculum and educational materials will be prepared and updated by adding the English preparatory class, Minister Selçuk also said that they aim to raise students' language proficiency to a higher level. By offering maritime students skills training and internship opportunities in businesses, our students' transition from theory to practice will be accelerated. We will also prioritize the employment of our graduate students. By organizing on-the-job training for maritime field teachers, we will make our teachers better equipped in their field. Thus, our teachers will be included in the practice used in the field as well as the theoretical knowledge. "

Minister Selçuk stated that the schools within the scope of the protocol will be given the status of educational institutions implementing special programs and projects.
