Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, made a statement on the occasion of World Seafarers' Day in June 2020, saying that the national software developed by HAVELSAN for the Turkish Straits will also be used in the Eastern Mediterranean Ship Traffic Services Project, which will also include the TRNC and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Explaining that work has started for the renewal and nationalization of the Turkish Straits Ship Traffic Services System, Karaismailoğlu stated that the national software work was completed and the system was passed to the testing and acceptance phase.
Minister Karaismailoğlu said, "This local and national software will also be used for the Eastern Mediterranean Ship Traffic Services Project, which will also include the TRNC and the Eastern Mediterranean, which our state attaches great importance to after the Turkish Straits."
