A Circular on Not Lighting Fire in Forest Areas was sent to 81 Provincial Governorships by the Ministry of Interior.

In the circular, it was reminded that the governorships were instructed to take the necessary measures by evaluating that forest fires could increase depending on seasonal or human factors in order to protect forests, which are the leading natural resources.

In the circular, it was stated that citizens intensively burn a barbecue, samovar or stove due to the summer and holiday season, and this situation caused an increase in forest fires due to the high air temperature and the increase in the amount of dry grass / bushes.

In the circular, which stated that new measures were taken in addition to the previous measures with the increasing forest fires, the measures taken were listed as follows.

In article 32 of the Regulation on the Works to be Performed by the Officials in the Prevention and Extinguishing of Forest Fires; In the provinces and districts, under the presidency of governors and district governors, the Commitee for Combating Forest Fires, composed of forest management director / regional chief, police chief, gendarmerie commander, as well as the members specified in the regulation under the chairmanship of governors and district governors, representatives of the relevant municipalities and special provincial administrations and other institutions and organizations needed. organization (trade associations, etc.) representatives will meet urgently.

By this commission, the places where barbecue / samovar / fire can be lit and the places where barbecue / samovar / fire can be lit and the places that are forbidden, which are located around the forest areas within the provincial / district boundaries and which may cause forest fires due to their proximity (including the land subject to private ownership), Article 76 of the Forest Law (d) ) will be determined and mapped by August 15, 2020 at the latest. It will be decided by the commissions in this direction and announced to the public.

It will be ensured that the recreation areas where barbecue / samovar / fire can be lit and nature parks determined by the authorized institutions in the forest areas are announced to our citizens in the widest way by the Governorship and District Governorships.

In accordance with the provision "It is forbidden to fire outside the places that are permitted in forests and designated as quarry places" in Article 76 of the Forest Law, it will not be allowed to light a barbecue / samovar / fire in forest areas (except for registered picnic and recreation areas determined by authorized institutions), hunter and the shepherds will be prevented from making fires.

It will not be allowed to light a barbecue / samovar / fire until 31.10.2020 after 20.00 in the forest areas and around the forest areas (excluding the pre-determined camping areas in forest areas).

Burning of stubble or vegetation (vineyards and garden waste grass, branches, etc.) will not be permitted, especially in the vicinity of forest areas.

It will not be allowed to use flammable materials such as fireworks and wish balloons that may cause forest fires in weddings and similar organizations in places close to forest areas.

Entries to high-risk forest areas can be restricted by the local governors to cover a certain period / period within the framework of the provisions of the relevant legislation.

Informative flyers or brochures will be distributed regarding the rules to be followed when entering picnic and recreation areas where barbecue / samovar / fire is allowed, visuals, announcements etc. to be used on billboards of public institutions and organizations. The awareness of the citizens on the subject will be increased with these vehicles.

The issues specified in the circular will be checked and the necessary warnings will be made to the citizens with patrols to be carried out regularly by the police and private security personnel, especially the general law enforcement and forest protection officers.

Necessary judicial and administrative actions will be taken in line with the provisions of the relevant legislation against violations detected during the audits.
