Göreme Historical National Park was the National Park located in the borders of Nevşehir province in the Central Anatolia region. It was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985. On October 30, 1986, a national park was declared with the decision of the Council of Ministers, and on October 22, 2019, it was removed from the status of national park.

The area of ​​the park was located in the volcanic area of ​​Hasan Mountain-Erciyes Mountain in Central Anatolia.

The places with monasteries, churches, chapels, dining halls and monk cells, warehouses and wineries are carved and decorated with murals.

In addition, Ürgüp, Avcılar, Üçhisar, Çavuşini, Yeni Zelve settlements constitute the sites that provide historical and natural integrity reflecting the agriculture and village life in accordance with the past culture of Göreme region.

Transportation

World Heritage List

Göreme and Capodocia National Park was included in the World Heritage List as a natural and cultural asset from December 6, 1985 to October 22, 2019.
