17 Percent Hike for İZBETON Workers

A collective bargaining agreement was signed for 750 workers working under the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality company İZBETON. Workers' wages were raised by 17 percent.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality company organized Municipalities of Turkey work with İZBETON and General Services Workers Union (TURK-IS), depending on the municipality -Business Union of Izmir No. 3 tenth period between the branch collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for the signatures were discarded. In the collective bargaining agreement covering 750 workers, the salaries of the workers increased by 17 percent. Today, an informative meeting was held at İZBETON's central construction site in Belkahve.

Speaking at the meeting, Mayor of Municipality-İş Union İzmir No.3 Branch President Murat Karakuş stated that they are happy as a union for signing such a contract despite the pandemic period and thanked İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer.

Karakuş said, “Our collective bargaining agreement started in January but was extended due to the pandemic. As of yesterday, it was signed and the process was terminated. Our greatest chance is to have a president and general manager who favors workers and labor. Despite the pandemic, we signed a very good contract. " he spoke. Saying that wages were increased by 17 with the contract, Karakuş said, “Our collective bargaining agreement has been the best agreement of recent years with the improvements made in social rights. I wish all the best. " said.

Speaking after Karakuş, Heval Savaş Kaya, General Manager of İZBETON, underlined that they have been in favor of labor since the first day they took office and that they expressed that the conditions of the employees should be better at every opportunity.

Kaya continued his words as follows: “In doing so, you have to maintain many balances. We tried to get the best result by bringing the balances such as the conditions of the company and the state of the country's economy side by side. Our President Tunç Soyer, who guided us in this process, enabled us to be more courageous, more determined and more sensitive. Our president has been very positive during this process. From now on, we will achieve very good works together. We will do our best to make sure that everything goes in your favor ”.

The collective bargaining agreement signed will be valid between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2022.
