While High Speed Train and main line passenger train services, which were stopped due to pandemic, were restarted on 28 May 2020, it was claimed that disabled people with free transportation rights on trains were removed without any legal justification. Utku Çakırözer, CHP Eskişehir Deputy, brought the rebellion of the disabled to the agenda of the parliament. Çakırözer, who gave a question request for the response of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, said, “The train services stopped due to pandemic have been restarted, but the right to free transportation of the disabled has been suspended. This unlawful decision should be stopped and the right of free access for our disabled people should be returned immediately. ”

After the pandemic, the free transportation right for disabled people was suspended in YHT and main line flights. Non-governmental organizations and citizens with disabilities demanded that the decision be suspended and the right to free transportation be reinstated while the TCDD revolted the suspension of the disabled's right to free travel. Utku Çakırözer, of CHP, brought the suffering to the Assembly's agenda and asked the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu to suspend the right to free transportation of disabled people.

“GIVE UP THE UNMANNED DECISION”

CHP's Cakirozer said, “The train services stopped during the epidemic started again, but the free transportation rights provided to the disabled in the trains were taken away. Without any legal justification. Millions of people with disabilities benefit from these flights free of charge. Taking away the right of transportation of our disabled people, which should be prioritized in all areas of life, is a huge ruthlessness and disloyalty. This decision taken by the TCCD in an unlawful and unfounded manner is unacceptable. This unlawful decision should be abandoned immediately, and the right of free access to the disabled should be returned. ”

"When did you decide to decide?"

Çakırözer asked the following questions with the request of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu to answer:

  • When was this decision, which suspended the right of disabled people to free transportation?
  • What is the reason for the suspension of the right to free transportation of disabled people without any legal justification when restarting YHT and main line train services, which were stopped for pandemic reasons, on 28 May 2020?
  • Has the Ministry of Health advised TCDD 'suspend the right to free transportation for people with disabilities' as part of the pandemic measures in passenger transport?
