During the 2019 swimming season in Kocaeli, a total of 10 beach swimming areas, 11 in the Gulf of Izmit and 21 in the Black Sea Coast, were determined. In six of these, the Blue Flag, which is the symbol of the sea, is waving. In 2020 swimming season, Darıca-Şehit Er Gökhan Hüseyinoğlu Beach Park Beach, Karamürsel-Ereğli Beautiful Coastal Beach and Gölcük-Halıdere Beach were determined as 3 beach swimming areas. Thus, our people have the opportunity to swim in a total of 13 beaches this summer, 11 in the Gulf of Izmit and 24 in the Black Sea Coast.
MEASURES REQUIRED BY THE SCIENCE BOARD
In accordance with the recommendations stated in the COVID-01 Outbreak Management and Study Guide published by the Ministry of Health Scientific Advisory Board on 2020 June 19; In order for citizens to have a healthy, safe and peaceful holiday, arrangements were made in accordance with social distance and hygiene rules in addition to maintenance and repair work on all beaches. In the studies carried out, sand was laid on the beaches in a part of Kandira Kerpe, Kovanagzi and Kumcuk. In addition, toilets and lifeguard towers were installed on all beaches across Kandira, social facilities were reworked. Walkways were created for the disabled and camellias were established. In line with the pandemic rules, the construction of new showers and walkways from beach to showers has been completed. Landscape studies were carried out on the walkways in the coastal areas.

Belde A.Ş. Umbrellas, sunbeds, tents, tent places and caravan rental services are carried out this summer by the beaches in Kandira. There are 7 parking places for the vehicles of the citizens who will come to swim. Since 2013, Belde A.Ş. has not increased its sunbed-umbrella, parking lot, tent, tent location, caravan and toilet fees.
