Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer“It's easy to say, you carry hundreds of people every day. They are entrusted to you. That's why it's such a huge responsibility. We are proud of you all for getting through this. At the same time, you are the face of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality before the people of Izmir. Therefore, your stance actually represents the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. You start your day at five in the morning. Sleepless days. It's really not easy. I would like to thank each and every one of you individually for representing us with pride.”

Stating that the municipality is a large institution and therefore they cannot meet with the employees frequently, Mayor Soyer said: “Make sure that a friend will make a mistake that ties us all. Therefore, I ask you to always remind each other of this. Because İzmir's name is very big. We will try to grow together. ”

"Turkey is closely following the Izmir"

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyercontinued its holiday visits with the campus of the Department of Parks and Gardens. Here, Soyer was welcomed by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department Head Çiğdem Uğurluoğlu Asıcı and employees. President Soyer, who wants everyone to make an effort to do their job in the best way, said, “The work we all have done is interconnected and we all complement each other. Turkey follows Izmir closely. And everything we do or don't do is recorded somewhere. We have an important place in terms of social democratic municipality in Turkey. It's a responsibility. It is up to us to protect it and move it forward.”

“If it makes the change, Izmir will do it”

Referring to the country's economic situation Tunç Soyer, said: “We know that whatever we complain about or disturb in Turkey, better is possible. We have to expect this from ourselves, not from anyone else. Turkey is really getting worse. Just ten years ago, a minimum wage earner could get six quarters of gold, but now he can get three. In ten years each of us was half impoverished. We live in a difficult country. We know that the solution lies in a fairer and more democratic administration. We are the ones who will build it. We make a mistake if we expect someone else to solve it. If we produce good service, if we do the right municipality, we will pave the way for change in Turkey. If it does this, Izmir will do it, we will. That's why the effort of each of you is very valuable.”
