IMM opens the Olympic swimming pools in its four facilities to licensed swimmers over the age of 11. The swimmers who have to train in private halls and some of the facilities that do not meet the standards will be prepared for tournaments in the areas most suitable for their branches with the support of IMM.
One of the affiliates of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Spor Istanbul opens its Olympic swimming pools in its four facilities to licensed swimmers over the age of 11. The new application launched by IMM to contribute to the country's sports was shared with the public through a press conference. To the press conference held in İBB Fatih Sports Complex, General Manager of Spor Istanbul İ. Renay Onur, İBB Youth and Sports Manager İlker Öztürk, İBB Sports Club Secretary General Erdem Aslanoğlu and Swimming Federation President Erkan Yalçın attended. Speaking at the opening, General Manager of Spor Istanbul İ. Renay Onur said the facilities that will come into service are Kartal Hasan Doğan Sports Complex, Ümraniye Çakmak Swimming Pool, Fatih Sports Complex and Hidayet Türkoğlu Sports Complex. Stating that the pools remained empty due to the pandemic, Onur said that they acted according to the views of the IMM Science Board and left the opening at the end of August in order to be suitable for the public. Onur made his statement as follows:
“Until the end of August, we are opening four facilities to the use of our licensed and group A athletes over the age of 11, so that our swimmers can close this gap. Here we also had a good cooperation with the Swimming Federation. 14 years later, we are also excited to host our swimmers and contribute to their performances in these beautiful pools. ”
İBB Youth and Sports Manager İlker Öztürk, who took the floor after Onur said, “As Istanbul IMM, we show all our efforts on the triangle of Youth Sports Directorate, Sports Istanbul and IMM Sports Club with a successful coordination in the name of sports. In this direction, we are putting our signature under an organization in our pools in our facilities operated by Spor Istanbul, together with our clubs and federation. Our goal is to contribute to the training of athletes both vertically and horizontally and to the more common involvement of the people in swimming. ”
Stating the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 will represent Turkey in the best way swimming Swimming Federation President Erkan Yalcin, "6 Olympics, the Olympics have 42 B barrage. Hopefully we will go to Tokyo befitting our country. Now swimming is developing, swimming is growing. IMM started a pioneer for the active use of the facilities within the borders of our country. I thank them in your presence. Hopefully our children representing us will come out of these pools in Europe, the world and the Olympiad. ”
