Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said that they aim to complete the construction of Çukurova Regional Airport, which is under construction in Mersin, within 2 years.
Karaismailoğlu, along with Governor Ali İhsan Su, Parliament Plan and Budget Commission President Lütfi Elvan and other interested parties made a study in the construction of Çukurova Regional Airport.
Karaismailoğlu, who made a statement to the journalists after the field visit, said that they will examine the on-site transportation projects in the city.
Referring to Turkey's airway Karaismailoğlu investment, "Mr under the leadership of our President, the AK Party government we have increased the number of airports which period 24 to 56. We increased the number of passengers from 30 million to 210 million. The airway became the way of the people. ” used the expression.

Emphasizing that the work is continuing at the airport, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have also completed our projects regarding the superstructure. In the first stage, we completed the airport terminal projects that will serve 8 million passengers in the first stage. Then, we designed an airport with a capacity to serve 12 million passengers. Hopefully, we are aiming to make the tender in the coming days and start the construction this year and complete the construction within 2 years at the latest. ” found the assessment.

Expressing that they will be followers of the project, Karaismailoğlu said: “We will put into operation an airport worthy of our nation that Çukurova longing for in order to provide the service as soon as possible and Çukurova Regional Airport will serve this region. It will be a very valuable investment. We hope that we will get the return of our investment here in a short time. We made our plan and preparation in that way. ”
