According to information from the Chinese National Space Administration, the Tianwen-5 Mars reconnaissance vehicle will be launched on a suitable date this summer with its fourth Long Walk-5 (Changzheng-1) rocket.
The Long Walk-5 Y4 coded rocket was launched today on the launch pad at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province.
After the Long Walk-5 Y4 rocket reached Wenchang Launch Center in May, preparations such as assembly and testing were completed.
This mission is the first practical launch of the Long Walk-5 rocket series. At the same time, China's launch vehicle will perform its mission to send Mars reconnaissance vehicle to Earth-Mars orbit.
China's first Mars reconnaissance mission was confirmed in January 2016. The mission aims to obtain scientific data on Mars exploration after conducting exploration of the planetary environment, landing and patrol on Mars. The first step of China's planetary exploration will be taken.
