Koza Han II in the late 15th century. It was built by Bayezid to architect Abdül ula bin Pulat Şah in Bursa as a foundation for his works in Istanbul.

There is a small masjid with a fountain in the courtyard of the building located between the Ulu Mosque and Orhan Mosque in the Hanlar Region. Ottoman era is a work in the architecture of inn and caravanserai in terms of the masjid in the middle - that preserved the old traditions and preserved its integrity. It took many names in the past: Yeni Han, Han-ı Cedid, Han-ı Cedid-i Evvel (after the construction of Brass Han), Han-ı Cedid-i Amire, Yeni Kervansaray, Beylik Han, Beylik Kervansaray, Simkeş Han, Sırmakeş Han and Koza Han ”. Silk cocoon trade was made in this inn and it was known as Koza Han. The silk merchants who came to Bursa for the cocoon trade kept two rooms in the inn, which provides accommodation services; they used the upper room to see and stay in their commercial affairs, and the lower room to store their merchandise. Han preserves its commercial function today.

Architectural features

The inn consists of a two-storey main block around a rectangular courtyard close to the square, and a second courtyard section with stables and warehouses to the east. Mixed technique made of brick and cut stone was used in the outer masonry. There are 45 rooms on the ground floor, 50 of which are on the ground floor and 95 of which are on the ground floor. A portico surrounds the rooms at the top and bottom [1]. While the upstairs porticoes are wooden, they were converted to brown in the final repair. The arches are brick and domed. The rooms are covered with vaults. Each one has two windows that open to the outside.

There is a separate mosque in the middle of the courtyard, as in some Seljuk caravanserais. Masjid is an eight-sided structure with a fountain and a pool; it is covered with a lead-covered dome.

The building is entered through a round arched door in the north, which is animated with relief burma made of stone and decorated with blue tiles. A stone staircase from both sides of the entrance leads to the upper floor.

The second courtyard section built as an animal barn is called the "Inner Koza Han". In this section, which has a single floor, food and beverage service is provided today.

history

Koza Han has no construction inscription, but in Istanbul II. The construction of Koza Han, whose income was devoted to this complex, began in March 1505, according to the foundation of the foundation of the large mosque and complex built for Bayezid at the General Directorate of Foundations dated 1490. However, it was revealed that the caravanserai mentioned in the foundation was not Koza Han, but Brass Rice nearby, and the location of Koza Han was purchased from various people in 29.

It was repaired in 1671-1672 and 1685. The inn, which underwent major restoration in the 1950s, became the eyes of modern commercial centers.
