Projects prepared for the protection of the seas are coming to life. In order to reduce bureaucracy and move faster, the Ship Waste Tracking System (GATS) and Blue Card System (MKS) were gathered under one roof and the Marine Waste Application (DAU) was launched. Especially with the system created to eliminate the problems experienced in the field, it is aimed to provide data entry and control in electronic environment.

INFORMATION MEETING HELD

An information meeting was held in Kocaeli within the scope of the Maritime Waste Application (DAU), which was implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. The meeting, which included the implementation of DAU in Kocaeli, was attended by the Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce, the Authority of the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, the authorities of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and İZAYDAŞ, and the managers of cooperatives, shelters and associations operating in Kocaeli.

BLUE CARD NUMBER WILL BE PROVIDED

Speaking at the meeting, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Marine and Coastal Services Branch Manager Birol Balcı emphasized that the tanker under 150 GRT and motor boat owners under 400 GRT will be registered to the system and a Blue Card Number will be given. Stating that the amount of waste collected from the boats will be processed in the Blue Card System, Balcı noted that the Waste Transfer Forms will be arranged through the system to present in the inspections to be made. On the other hand, Balcı stated that the wastes to be generated in the boats will be collected by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in the designated fishermen shelters.
