Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, which brings comfort to the transportation of Kocaeli, continues its works on one of its giant projects, “Gebze District TEM Highway Bridges Connection Roads 1st Stage Construction Work”. Bridges will be built by the General Directorate of Highways, bypasses and participation branches by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in the project, which has been tried to facilitate the transportation between Gebze OSB regions and Gebze district center.
SOIL WORK ON SOUTH SIDE ROAD COMPLETED
Within the scope of the project, the side road and participation branches will be made by the Science Affairs Department teams. Within the scope of the works, a total of 3 thousand 3 meters of side roads will be constructed, 150 thousand meters in the southern part and 6 thousand 150 meters in the northern part. The length of the road constructed with participation arms and other roads will be 12 km. The Department of Science Affairs teams completed the grounding work on the southern part of the first bridge on the Istanbul side, which the Highways had just started building. The filling work started at this point will be completed in a short time.
80 MILLION PROJECT WILL SOLVE TRAFFIC DENSITY
Traffic is experienced especially in the morning and evening hours at the Tembelova and Kirazpınar bridges on the TEM Highway, which connects to Gebze OSB regions and Gebze district center and D-100 Highway. Within the scope of the project that Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will implement in partnership with the General Directorate of Highways, one-way continuous, side roads will be constructed parallel to the TEM Highway in the north and south. Turn points will be built to allow crossings between both side roads. Thus, all signalized intersections on the east-west axis will be eliminated. It is anticipated that the project will be completed in 500 days.
4 NEW BRIDGES WILL BE BUILT
Under the project, which will greatly ease the transportation network in the region, 4 new bridges will be built. Tembelova and Kirazpınar Bridges, which serve as 2 times 1 at the highway location between Kirazpınar Neighborhood and Sultan Orhan, İnönü and Arapçeşme Neighborhoods, will be demolished and rebuilt with 2 times 2 lanes. Again, within the scope of the project, two new bridges will be built west of Tembelova Bridge, 2 times 1 and east of Kirazpınar bridge, 2 times 1 lane.
BÜYÜKŞEHİR 12 KILOMETER SUPERSTRUCTURE WORK WILL BE DONE
Within the scope of the project, approximately 12 kilometers of roads will be constructed, along with the lane departure and participation lanes to the north and south sides of the bridges built by the Highways of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. Within the scope of the work, superstructure, drainage lighting, rainwater infrastructure and small art structures will be carried out. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will spend approximately 45 million TL on the project within the scope of superstructure works.
