Family, Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk stated that the short working period was extended by 3,5 month for the workplaces benefiting from the short work practice benefited by over 1 million workers.

Stating that a new application will not be received from the employers in order to benefit from the extension and a new suitability determination will not be made for the extended period, Minister Selçuk said that only the workers who benefit from the short-term work allowance can benefit from this right until the unemployed periods applied in the same period.

Minister Selçuk said, “No new request will be received from employers for a 1-month extension. However, our employers who do not want to benefit from a 1-month extension because they have started their normal activities or who want to reduce the unworked time previously, should report this to İŞKUR units. ” said.

In addition, with the decision of the Board of Directors of İŞKUR based on the decision published in the Official Gazette, no new short-time application will be received for reasons of compelling reasons due to external influences as of 01/07/2020.

Dismissal Ban Extended For Another Month

In accordance with the decision of the other President in the same newspaper, the periods regarding the failure of the employer to terminate any employment or service contract issued under the provisional article 10 of the labor law for a period of three months was extended by one month.

Within the scope of the article, the practice of partial or complete unpaid leave of employees by the employer for three months was extended for one month.
