The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made investigations at the Gölbaşı Campus of Türksat A.Ş. and received information about the company's work.

Underlining that Türksat 6A is a domestic satellite project, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “The contract of Türksat 6A was signed on 15 December 2014 with the participation of our President. This satellite, our Ministry and Türksat A.Ş. together with TÜBİTAK, TAI, ASELSAN and Ctech.

“We aim to increase the number of cable TV subscribers to 1 million 400 thousand”

Emphasizing that Türksat A.Ş. provides digital television, broadband internet and fixed telephony services over cable infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu said, “We anticipate that the number of cable TV subscribers of approximately 1 million 300 thousand will be increased to 1 million 400 thousand by the end of the year. It is our priority to increase the number of more than 1 million cable subscribers to 1 million 100 thousand by the end of the year. ”

Receiving information about Türksat A.Ş.'s new strategic projects, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “It is very important to develop and protect the satellite communication capacity of our country. It is noteworthy that our cable TV infrastructure is used actively and profitably, and that broadcasters are provided with high quality services. We support your efforts for information security by expanding value added IT services. He closely follows all kinds of investment plans in this direction and I want to state that we are with you ”.

Noting that the satellite redundancy and data center redundancy projects are among the important investment projects of Türksat A.Ş., Karaismailoğlu said that the works of Ankara Macunköy Data Center Redundancy Project are continuing. Minister Karaismailoğlu noted that the planned investments include the Ankara Satellite Redundancy System Project and the Ankara Gölbaşı Data Center Project.

Pointing out the company's value-added IT services, Karaismailoğlu said, “By the end of 2020, we foresee that the number of public institutions serving through the e-Government Gateway will increase to 710”.

Minister Karaismailoğlu continued: “During the fight against the Kovid-19 pandemic that we left behind, life fell into the house, and records of e-government gate usage were broken. The number of e-government uses, which average 300 million per month, reached 500 million in April and May.

In particular, we used the e-Government Gateway very heavily, mainly from the services of our ministry, including the PTT mask application, social assistance applications, the Ministry of Internal Affairs e-application inquiry, and the Ministry of Health HES code generation and inquiry services. I would also like to thank Türksat A.Ş. for the fact that the e-Government Gateway services, where such loading and intensive use are in question, are carried out without interruption. ”

Karaismailoğlu, who said, “We have achieved great success in our national struggle against the global Kovid-19 outbreak,” under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as a state, with our foresight, on-the-spot decision and action reflex, as a nation, with full harmony and cooperation. Noting that Türksat took important responsibility in the new process and that a devoted work program was underway, Minister Karaismailoğlu gave the following information about the services implemented within the scope of combating the epidemic:

“TRT training channels were launched via Satellite and Cable TV. The usage of our students who could not go to their schools and received their education through EBA was not deducted from their quotas. Health workers who received service with a quota tariff were granted 3 GB for 100 months, and 25 GB for all subscribers.

April, May and June bill payment terms of Satellite and Cable TV Broadcasters were postponed to 30 September 2020. All of these services are important and significant. Türksat A.Ş. I congratulate his administration for these efforts and his contribution to the struggle. ”
