İBB started to adopt 177 horses taken from phaeton tradesmen in Adalar. The horses, which were looked after with 55 personnel in Büyükada, started to move safely to their new places. İBB President İmboğlu shared the news with the news, accompanied by images from social media. He promised to the sixteen million Istanbul residents that the horses would be in new places under the supervision of IMM.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) started to adopt the horses purchased after the banning of phaeton in the Islands. Of the 177 horses that were purchased at the first stage, 20 of them were owned by Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Vocational School of Veterinary Medicine Equine and Trainer Department. The owned horses were moved to their new location by the teams of the IMM Headquarters and Food Department. Elazığ Fırat University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will also own 8 more horses on June 20. Thus, the number of owned horses will reach 40.

IMM President, who instructed the development of a custom-built electric vehicle project after the ban on phaeton riding, which turned into an ordeal for everyone in the Islands. Ekrem İmamoğlu He shared the good news on his social media accounts. İmamoğlu shared the following statements in his post: “We took the carriage off in the Islands, bought the horses, took care of them, and took their health under control. Now we adopt our horses to institutions that we are sure will be well taken care of. Their first home was Istanbul University. Our surveillance will continue in their new locations as well.”

55 STAFF LOOK AT HORSES

On the other hand, health control, maintenance and feeding of the horses purchased are carried out in Büyükada with a total of 55 personnel, including veterinarians, grooms and farrier. Approximately 50 tons of feed per week is used in the feeding of horses.

After the horses came under the supervision of IMM, additional areas were created for the existing shelters. Feeders and drinkers were restored in shelter areas, separators were placed between them in order to prevent them from harming each other, and spaces were created to allow horses to wander freely.

IMM HAS NOT VICTIMED THE FAYTONCU

As it is known, phaetoning in the Islands, which caused complaints for years, was banned after the gream disease of 81 horses. The IMM decided to compensate the unemployed tradesmen and paid 300 lira per registered carriage plate and 4 thousand lira for horses.
