Passenger Rates Reorganized in Public Transport Vehicles in Ankara

With the transition to the normalization process within the scope of combating the coronavirus outbreak, the passenger and standing passenger capacity ratios in public transportation vehicles were rearranged. In accordance with the decision of the Ankara Governorship Provincial General Sanitary Board, the rule of 30 percent in standing passengers in EGO Buses and 50 percent in Rail Systems was restored, while Ankara Metropolitan Municipality restarted the free Wi-Fi service that it temporarily stopped in recreation areas and parks.

With the transition to the normalization process throughout the country, new regulations were made in the restrictions on public transport in the Capital.

In the normalization process, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate redefined the passenger capacity rates to be applied in public transportation vehicles in line with the decision of the Provincial General Sanitary Board of the Ankara Governorship.

30% PERCENT RULES IN EGO BUSS AND 50 PERCENT RULES IN RAIL SYSTEMS

Passenger restriction in urban transportation has been removed under certain rules, and the number of passengers has increased.

With the last arrangement, while removing the social distance stickers, it was decided not to ride on unmasked public transport vehicles and to continue the cross seating arrangement on opposite buses in buses. The number of passengers standing on EGO buses has been changed as follows:

• 99 model solo vehicles 31 sitting, 21 standing 52 people in total,
• 99 model bellows vehicles, 44 people sitting, 33 standing, 77 people in total,
• 2007-2008 model solo vehicles 30 sitting, 12 standing 42 people in total,
• 2010-2011 model solo vehicles 32 sitting, 12 standing 44 people in total,
• 2012-2013 model bellows vehicles, on the other hand, were 28 people, 35 sitting, 63 standing

In Metro and ANKARAY, since there are no reciprocal seats, all seats will switch to normal seating, while 50% of standing passenger capacity will be carried.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality temporarily stopped the wireless internet service in recreation areas and parks for the protection of social distance and public health within the scope of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, and restarted the free Wi-Fi service after 23 days intervals in 70 parks across the city.
