Erzurum Governor Okay Memiş stated that the studies regarding the CAT 3A system, which was started in Erzurum Airport in the past years to eliminate flight cancellations in the winter and could not be activated due to various problems, reported that it would report the situation to the relevant ministry.
Governor Memiş, with his accompanying Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen and AK Party Provincial Director Mehmet Emin Öz, came to Erzurum Airport and examined the installation works of the CAT-3A system, which was planned to be completed last year by the General Directorate of State Airports Administration (DHMI).
Receiving information from DHMI and relevant contractor company officials, Governor Memiş said in a statement to journalists that the work done at Erzurum Airport was insufficient and that the related companies had committed to the completion of the work on 30 August.
Governor Okay Memiş emphasized that the work in the field was done with few staff and was inadequate, “This year both the contractor company and the General Directorate of DHMI promised to train the works. We came, we saw, there are employees but we are worried. When I came here every month last year, there was work at this pace and although it is said that we will raise it, it was not. I am afraid that if we work in this way, it will not be raised again, this work has become our fearful dream. said.
Stating that they have given all kinds of permits to the authorities in order to continue the work at Erzurum Airport without interruption, Governor Memiş said: “We will meet with DHMI General Directorate and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and present the situation, we want the work machines and workforce to be completed and the work is completed. If we do not finish here this year, I can not work as a governor in this province, I can not go out of my shame. I will convey the situation to the Ministry in writing. The work here does not seem sufficient, we do not accept any excuses. Here, we have obtained all kinds of permissions so that the works do not fail. "
Governor Okay Memiş stated that the deputies of Erzurum and the relevant ministries and the political mechanism with the relevant ministry have done their part, and they have been saddened by the fact that the installation of the Erzurum Airport CAT 3A system, which they have been following closely since last year, has not been completed yet.
