4 thousand 775 Kilometers Bicycle Road will be built

Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum has announced that they will focus on green walking and cycling routes to maintain air quality.

Stating that they have supported a thousand 150 kilometers of bicycle roads made by local administrations until today, the Minister stated that the efforts they initiated in 81 to increase bicycle roads in 2018 provinces continue.

Minister Institution, Batman, Bitlis, Çanakkale, İstanbul, who stated that the construction of a total of 102 kilometers of bicycle roads started in Afyonkarahisar, Amasya, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Çankırı, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Rize, Sakarya, Trabzon, Tunceli. He stated that the construction of a total of 114 kilometers of bicycle roads in Konya, Kırşehir, Kütahya, Mersin, Muğla, Niğde, Ordu, Rize, Siirt, Trabzon, Tokat, Yozgat and Zonguldak provinces is ongoing.

Stating that they have prepared the “Intercity Transportation and Tourism Purposes Master Plan” for the 3 thousand 165 km route that will be integrated with the European Bicycle Network (Eurovelo), the Authority will complete the 2 kilometers of the cycle roads planned in 1650 stages: Anatolia and coastal corridor by the end of this year. he stressed.

The Minister Institution said, “Our bicycle roads will be integrated in transportation within the city, and will serve especially between bicycle tourism and national and international sports organizations. We have completed 102 kilometers of bicycle path in total. By the end of 1496, we will have established a total of 17 thousand 114 kilometers of bicycle networks for our citizens, with 3 kilometers of protected areas, 165 kilometers of 2023 provinces and 4 thousand 775 kilometers of bicycles that will be integrated with the European Bicycle Network. In order to contribute to pedestrian transportation, we will make 2023 thousand kilometers of green walking paths until 3. ” gave information.

BIKE ROADS ARE PROVIDED ON THE PROTECTED AREAS

Stating that the construction of bicycle roads in the special environmental protection zone and natural protected areas is also continuing, the Authority said:

“The bicycle roads that we will build in protected areas between İzmir and Antalya will be concentrated in Datça-Knidos, Köyceğiz-Dalyan, Fethiye-Ölüdeniz, Patara-Kaş-Kekova and Bodrum-Yatağan-Milas. The bicycle roads that we will build within the borders of Ankara, Konya and Aksaray will be located around Gölbaşı district and Tuz lake. Bicycle routes to the protected areas within the borders of Aegean, Mediterranean and Central Anatolia will have a total of 1496 kilometers. As the Ministry, we have completed the implementation projects of the cycle paths in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions, while the implementation projects of the cycle paths in Tuz Gölü and Gölbaşı are ongoing. Bicycle paths to be built in protected areas will cost 318 million 750 thousand liras. ”

The agency also reported that work on the demands from the municipalities for the 500-kilometer-long bicycle path is ongoing.
