The sixth Submarine Information Distribution System (DBDS) developed by HAVELSAN within the scope of the New Type Submarine Project (YTDP) has moved off the production line and entered the test line. The New Type Submarine Project (YTDP), which was signed and put into effect on 22 June 2011 between the German company TKMS and the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and covers the construction of six U 214 Class Submarines with Air Independent Propulsion System (AIP) at the Gölcük Shipyard Command, is continuing successfully. The sixth Submarine Information Distribution System, originally designed by HAVELSAN, one of the Turkish Defense Industry companies that undertook important duties within the scope of the project, for the New Type Submarine Project, was taken onto the test line following the completion of production activities.

HAVELSAN, which produces critical systems within the scope of the project, will deliver 7 DBDS in total. In this system of submarine 6 to be produced, to be used as land while stationed in 1 piece.

New Type Submarine Project

Within the scope of the New Type Submarine Project (YTDP) signed between the Defense Industry Presidency (SSB) and the German TKMS company on June 22, 2011; Construction activities of 6 Reis Class Submarine Ships at Gölcük Shipyard Command are continuing successfully. TCG Pirireis (S-330), the first submarine ship produced under the project, was successfully launched on 22 December 2019 at the Gölcük Shipyard with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN. Also, the first welding ceremony of TCG Seydi Ali Reis (S-5), the 335th submarine ship of the project, was held at the same ceremony.

Submarines with Air-Independent Propulsion System (AIP) are known as the most strategic submarine ships worldwide after nuclear-powered submarines. Submarine ships with low voyage capabilities, which are critical for the Submarine Defense War (DSH); 68 meters long, 13 meters in height, surface displacement of 1.690 tons, maximum speed of 20kt +, the maximum range of 1250 nautical miles, tasks depth of 260 meters, 27 crew and 84 days with a mandate. Reis Class Submarines are armed with 4 8mm torpedo tubes, 533 of which are capable of firing Sub-Harpoon.

6 Reis Class Submarines, whose construction and equipment activities continue at Gölcük Shipyard Command; TCG Pirireis (S-330) 2022, TCG Hızır Reis (S-331) 2023, TCG Murat Reis (S-332) 2024, TCG Aydın Reis (S-333) 2025, TCG Seydi Ali Reis (S-334) 2026, TCG Selman Reis (S-335) will be delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces Command in 2027.
