Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu reminded that Turkey's first railway line, which one and after serving 1932 years of service to drop the Samsun-Sivas Thick railway line in 83, September 29, 2015, modernized in order to shut down transportation. Currently, our test drives continue with a total of 2 tons of cargo, 6 locomotives, 1 freight wagons and 500 personnel wagon. Completing the test drives as of May 1, our line will start commercial trials on May 4, "he said.

40 Historical Bridges Restored

Karaismailoğlu explained that 40 historical bridges were restored as part of the modernization of the Samsun-Sivas Kalin line, which is one of the two railway lines of the Black Sea opening to Anatolia and built to connect Samsun Port to the Central Anatolia Region. Explaining that the railway infrastructure platform width was renewed by 6.70 meters with the ground improvement, Minister Karaismailolğlu explained that they have made improvements in 12 tunnels and that the rail, traverse, ballast and truss superstructure of the line has been changed. Emphasizing that there will be a 50 percent increase in line capacity after modernization, Karaismailoğlu said, “We aim to open this line to commercial trials in this period when we need safe transportation due to the coronavirus epidemic, and start to carry the needs of our citizens over this line in the fastest and safest way.” he said.
