New arrangements are continuing for Mersin Metropolitan Municipality in Tarsus where traffic flows are safe and fast.

A new arrangement is being carried out by the Metropolitan teams to the intersection of Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan Caddesi, which connects Tarsus and Çamlıyayla districts, and also extends to the end of Atatürk Street and the Konak area, which is used both by the highlands and the citizens living in the countryside.

Infrastructure Work Started

Infrastructure work was initiated by the road maintenance and repair teams affiliated to Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Tarsus-Çamlıyayla Branch Office within the scope of the project, which was specially prepared for the crossroads where accidents were experienced occasionally in the summer due to excessive density.

The teams, which carried out expansion and arrangement work in the said junction area, made the border stone pavement according to the prepared project. Spending overtime with heavy construction machines for the removal of the asphalt worn at the junction and for the ground preparation, the Metropolitan teams will carry out the asphalting work in the coming days.

With the intersection arrangement, the Tarsus-Çamlıyayla road route aims to provide maximum safe passages for vehicles entering and leaving the Konak region.

Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan Caddesi Refuge Project

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality teams are also performing the missing median border stone laying of Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan Caddesi, which passes through the Konak area, which is the new expansion area of Tarsus. Within the scope of the works carried out on the aforementioned street, the arrangement and asphalting works will be implemented in the coming days at the intersection point of Gazipaşa Boulevard.
