Ministry of Commerce Announces Ceiling Price in Mask Sales

In the framework of the decisions taken after the Cabinet Meeting dated 4 May 2020, where the normalization calendar was announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it became possible to sell surgical masks at retail outlets.

Within this framework, surgical masks can be sold through markets, pharmacies, medical companies selling medical devices and the electronic commerce platform. Our goal is to provide our citizens with the most common network to provide surgical masks in the fastest and easiest way.

Surgical masks will be offered for sale to our consumers with a maximum of 1 (one) Turkish Lira including VAT. Sales above this price will be considered an exorbitant price.

In this context, as of May 8, 2020, in the first place, in Istanbul, where the epidemic is most intense, surgical masks will be sold in other markets, starting from the metropolitan areas. As of the week, efforts are underway to offer masks for sale in standard packages of 50.
