Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made examinations at Başakşehir İkitelli City Hospital connection road construction site.
Karaismailoğlu said that the ambulance viaduct to be made at the entrance of the hospital's emergency department and the side roads to the western entrances have made significant progress in the construction works and will reach the opening of the hospital as promised.
Explaining that the south side road of the hospital, whose first phase has been completed and the second phase will be put into service on May 20, has started and has been progressing rapidly, Karaismailoğlu explained that significant progress has been made in the construction works of the roads to be built in the east and west entrances of the hospital.
Emergency Unit to Open on May 20
Stating that Başakşehir İkitelli City Hospital is one of the health complexes that can benefit most from combating coronavirus, Karaismailoğlu stated that the Ministry of Health continues to work for the hospital to be put into service very quickly. Karaismailoğlu, 'Construction of the access roads of the hospital started late. It had to be finished by now, but those that had to finish did not finish these roads. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we have stepped in to ensure that such an important project can serve our citizens in an all-round manner and we started the construction works by taking the construction of the roads under the responsibility of our General Directorate of Highways. Our President declared the opening of the first section of the hospital as 20 May. Emergency unit of our hospital will be opened on May 20. There will be no problem with access and as we promised, it will start to serve with Hospital roads on 20 May. ' he spoke.
Superstructure Work Continues
Reminding that they have included the mentioned connection roads in the responsibility network of the General Directorate of Highways in order to avoid disruption in healthcare, Karaismailoğlu has a total length of 2 kilometers, including 3 × 2.2 lanes, 2 kilometers, 2 × 1.5 lanes 2 kilometers, 3.8 lanes one-way 7.5 kilometers. He explained that they produced the road and 480 meters long Health City Viaduct and 117 meters long Ambulance Viaduct. Minister Karaismailoğlu, who stated that the 100-meter-long south side road drainage and infrastructure productions have been completed, has also made significant progress in the construction of the superstructure, and the western entrance of the hospital, Güvercintepe side road, has reached the final stage and the construction of the Arnavutköy connection arm has reached the final stage.
Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out that the hospital, which has a total construction area of 950 thousand 705 square meters and a bed capacity of 2 beds, is one of the largest hospitals in Europe, and the population of the region will be around 682 thousand people daily.
