In the operation carried out by the Ministry of Trade Customs Protection teams in Istanbul Muratbey Customs Field, 760 thousand surgical masks, 1 million 310 thousand gloves and 8 pieces of protective overalls were seized in a foreign plate truck.
As a result of evaluations made by the Istanbul Customs Enforcement, Anti-Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams on the information systems used by the Ministry, a truck at the Muratbey Customs Site was examined. As a result of the examination, the foreign plate truck, which was declared to carry plastic household and kitchenware, was considered as risky. The truck was shipped to the X-ray scanning device and suspicious density was found as a result of scanning, and it was decided to search for the truck and taken to the search hangar.
When the trailer of the vehicle was opened, it was seen that the plastic home and kitchen items declared in the vehicle were never found. Instead of this item, it was understood that there were a large number of medical protective equipment in the vehicle, which was subject to the permission of the Ministry of Health to be taken out of the country, but was not declared and the company was not presented with any permit.
In the counting made, the total amount that is wanted to be taken abroad in violation of the law without declaration without permission; It was determined that there were 760 thousand surgical masks, 1 million 310 thousand gloves and 8 thousand 200 protective overalls. In addition, 190 pairs of shoes, 81 bags and 6 thousand 195 miscellaneous textile goods were found in the vehicle.
While the non-declaration, which has a customs value of 1 million 170 thousand Turkish liras, the vehicle used to carry this item was seized, the judicial investigation on the matter continues.
