Within the scope of combating coronavirus, normalization steps are being taken in some areas as of tomorrow. The primary reflection of this is envisaged to be experienced in public transportation. Because all restrictions on public transport continue on Monday, May 11, even though IMM has given its capacity 100 percent, there may be problems. IMM made some warnings for Istanbulites to experience these problems at the lowest level. IMM's warnings include avoiding peak hours in public transportation, avoiding riding without a mask, and maintaining social distance.

As of May 19, new regulations are being made in the restrictions applied in the coronavirus (Covid-11) measures. Due to the fact that many businesses will be operational again from the beginning in the normalization calendar, a serious increase in the use of private vehicles but more importantly in public transportation is expected in Istanbul. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) warned Istanbul residents by reminding that extraordinary restrictions on public transportation vehicles are continuing. Sharing the data of 8 million 1 thousand passes in public transportation on Friday, May 336, IMM determined that the most public transportation was used since March 20, when strict measures were applied and citizens were complied with social isolation. Explaining that it will work with 100 percent capacity on Monday, IMM has invited everyone to protect their health by staying as much as possible due to the persistence of the epidemic.

 SIX MATTER RECOMMENDATIONS

İBB reminded that the epidemic was spreading quickly and easily in public transportation vehicles, and pointed out the following titles, predicting that the use of public transportation would increase much more with the new frees to be launched on Monday, May 11:

  • “The epidemic is still ongoing, please do not leave the house unless it is mandatory.
  • If possible, prefer to walk or ride a bicycle instead of using public transport.
  • If you have to use public transport, use public transport not before peak hours but after 10:00 in the evening and before 16:00 in the evening.
  • Protect your physical distance at least 1-2 meters at bus stops, metro stations.
  • It is forbidden to ride public transport without a mask. Also, be careful not to touch the surfaces, stair railings, handles in public transport.
  • Please put the masks and gloves you use into the garbage bags. Do not put your hands on your face and wash your hands after using public transportation. ”

NO NORMALIZATION, NO NEW DECISION IN MASS TRANSPORT

IBB explanation by the Minister of Health Fahrettin husband also underscored the circling of Istanbul in Turkey, shown in the center of the outbreak IMM Science Board shared his views on this subject. Stating that the Board believes that the freedom to start on May 11 is an early opening, IMM stressed that no new regulations on public transport were made while normalization steps were taken.

100 PEOPLE CAN RIDE Instead of 25 PEOPLE

İBB stated that due to the ongoing public transportation restrictions, only half the number of seats can be taken to buses and subways, and half the number of passengers sitting. This means that a bus of 100 people can carry about 25 people, and a subway of 600 people can carry 300 people.

Noting that some of the waiting times of the passengers may increase at the stops on Monday, IMM called on everyone patiently to wait until a new and empty vehicle arrives.

WILL BE WORKED WITH FACE CAPACITY PERCENT

In the statement of IMM, the following points were emphasized: “We would like to point out that all public transportation services in Istanbul will operate at 11 percent capacity on Monday, May 100. However, it is obvious that there will be problems due to restrictions in passenger transportation. With the new arrangement, it was decided that commercial taxis will take 3 passengers. This means that; 2 people, including the driver, can travel on the 4 square meter area. However, such a release has not yet started in public transport. ”

PROTECT YOUR HEALTH BY STAYING AT HOME

“On this occasion, some of our valued passengers may experience victimization for reasons that we do not have in public transportation on Monday and after. We would like to point out to our precious people that the danger of epidemics continues and please protect your health by staying at home as much as possible. ”
