High Speed Train, which made the Ankara-Konya expedition on 13 December 2018 in Ankara, collided with a guide train during its entry to Marşandiz station. In the accident, 9 people were killed and 10 defendants, one of whom was detained, continued to be tried.
The trainer officer (scissorist) Osman Yıldırım, the only defendant of the YHT accident case, attended the hearing with the Audio and Video Information System within the scope of the corona virus epidemic measures. Yıldırım, who was asked to defend in terms of new documents that entered the file, stated that he had made his profession a joy for 30 years and that he had accepted his mistake in his defense at the first hearing.
Stating that his mistake was involved in defending the reasons, Yıldırım said, “I am in prison because of an error. I was separated from my family and my children. With my health, my family order deteriorated. My boy at the university had to leave his education. I am 58 years old, my address is with my family, I have nowhere else to go. I have been imprisoned for a long time, so I want me to be tried without imprisonment. ”
After the interrogation of the public prosecutor's decision, the court decided to continue the detention of the defendant OsmanYıldırım and postponed the hearing to 17 July.
