High Speed Train (YHT) flights, which stopped on March 28 within the scope of corona virus measures affecting the whole world, came into service again 2 months later.

YHT in Izmit From 1st June

While YHT, which was put into service on May 28, did not stop in Izmit, caused justified reactions, CHP Kocaeli Deputy Haydar Akar, who met with the General Directorate of TCDD, made a statement.

Akar, in his meeting with the General Directorate of Transportation of TCDD, stated that he was informed by the General Directorate that there were only passengers with travel permit on YHT flights between 28 May and 1 June, and that YHT would be in service again in Izmit from 1 June.

Stating that the statements and practices made by TCDD will follow in both Ankara and the city, Akar said, “This city is the locomotive of the 83 million country, it is a city that gives 12 and 1, but it does not see the investments it deserves. Today, we can see the Adapazarı-Haydarpaşa flights, which were used by 30 thousand citizens a day, as a souvenir only in postcards. It is unacceptable that YHT does not stop in Izmit now as we strive for this issue and struggle to make this line work again. In our meetings today, it was reported that YHT will serve in Izmit after 1 June. However, we will continue to follow not only this issue but also the regional line. ”
