Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, which attaches importance to transportation projects so that citizens can travel more comfortably on highways with their vehicles, also carries out maintenance and repair work on the deteriorated roads. The Science Affairs Department teams carried out the asphalt patch work of the floor of the Great SEKA Tunnel on the D-100 Highway in the Izmit district center. The places deteriorated by the work were dismantled and asphalted.
ROAD REPAIR IN ISTANBUL AND ANKARA DIRECTIONS
Thousands of vehicles pass every day on D-100 Highway, which is one of the transit routes of the Marmara Region. Deterioration may occur due to natural reasons on the road where there is a high amount of vehicle circulation. Metropolitan Municipality teams made road repairs in Izmit Büyük SEKA Tunnel, taking the opportunity to have low vehicle traffic due to coronavirus outbreak. Within the scope of the study, the disrupted areas in the roads of Istanbul and Ankara were paved and the work was completed.
DAYS WITHOUT VEHICLE TRAFFIC
As in the rest of the world, restrictions on social life and curfews are imposed in our country due to the coronavirus epidemic. Vehicle traffic drops to zero, especially on days of curfew. Taking advantage of this situation, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality teams carry out road maintenance and repair work comfortably on the main streets in many parts of Kocaeli. While the road comfort is increased with the road repair works carried out, the citizens are gained satisfaction.
