It makes us all happy to see that the measures taken so far to take control of the pandemic are not wasted. It is stated that the speed of transmission of the epidemic has decreased and has been taken under control for now.
Although this spills water in all of us, we should not be compromised. The most effective way to protect against the virus, whose vaccine or medicine is not yet available, is to avoid contact and wear a mask, to pay attention to social distance and hand hygiene.
As TCDD General Directorate of Transportation, we continue to take our precautions against Kovid-19 risk.
As part of these measures, we stopped our domestic and international passenger train services outside Marmaray and Başkentray.
We disinfect our currently operating city trains before each time, check the occupancy rate, and take the necessary measures for mask and hand hygiene.
As the safest transportation route in the epidemic, our rail freight continues to increase.
On the other hand, besides the international freight train passing from Marmaray, there was a historical start with domestic freight train passing. Continuous rail freight transportation between Asia and Europe has started.
As part of the normalization program, as part of the measures taken against the Kovid-19 risk, we are starting to operate high-speed trains from May 28, while rearranging our working environment and conditions. We plan to operate main and regional trains gradually in the future.
In ticket sales, while selling tickets at a 50 percent capacity suitable for social distance and by crossing seats, cross-order tickets will be made compulsory for passengers traveling. We also expect our passengers to comply with 19 rules against the Kovid-14 risk of the Ministry of Health.
