IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlucontinued to examine the services of the institution on site during the days of curfew spent in the house of the whole city. Examining the facility in Eyüpsultan, which will carry the sludge of the Golden Horn by "dewatering", İmamoğlu said, “This process will ensure the sustainable cleaning of the Golden Horn. The Golden Horn is one of the most special and beautiful areas of Istanbul that should be looked after like a baby. A valuable geography that the world describes as the 'Golden Horn'. Today, we are on the day of the Golden Horn's permanent service as a process that protects the environment but is also sustainable.” İmamoğlu also opened the historical 30rd Ahmet Fountain in Sultanahmet, whose water has not flowed for nearly 3 years, to the use of citizens.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğluAfter examining the Büyük İstanbul Bus Terminal and the Kiptaş Van Blocks in the Beyoğlu Piyalepaşa District, they went to Eyüpsultan. İmamoğlu, who made inspections at the İSKİ Bottom Sludge Dewatering Facility in Gümüşsuyu District, received information about the works from İSKİ General Manager Raif Mermutlu and İSTAÇ General Manager Mustafa Yaşam. Explaining the work done in the Golden Horn to İmamoğlu through examples, the officials stated that they prevented the fish nests from being damaged during the dredging.

“THE MUD WILL BE DRYED, WILL BE MOVED TO THE WEAVING ZONE”

According to the statements of Mermutlu and Canlı, the system will work as follows: In the works to be carried out by İSKİ and İSTAÇ, the water carried by the stream waters coming from Alibeyköy and Kağıthane will be scanned with a dredging vessel known as “Dregder”. The scanned mud will be pumped to the “Dewatering Facility” built on the edge of the Golden Horn. Here, the waste that is purified from water and made dry will be transported to excavation areas. In this way, transportation costs will decrease, there will be no odor, storage problems will be eliminated, and the water of the Golden Horn will be more clear and wavy with the bottom screening.

“COMMON WORKING OF THE TWO MUNICIPALITIES INSTITUTE IS VALUABLE”

Watching the launch of the bottom dredging vessel called “Dregder”, İmamoğlu evaluated the study trip with these words: “The process of the bottom mud in the Golden Horn is the subject of many years. The process to be carried out here is to collect the bottom sludge systematically, with a more mechanical and automatic setup. The mud in the Golden Horn will be transferred here with the bottom screening vehicle, pumping system, and in a way, sea water and mud will be separated. It will be possible to transport that mud more easily. This process will ensure the sustainable cleaning of the Golden Horn. The Golden Horn is entrusted to us. One of the most special and beautiful areas of Istanbul, which should be looked like a baby. It is a valuable geography that the world defines as 'The Horn of Gold'. It is very valuable for us that İSTAÇ provides services to this work owned by İSKİ and that two municipal institutions manage processes in solidarity. Today, we are on the day of Haliç's permanent service as a process that protects the environment but is also sustainable. This is the purpose of getting together. We are very happy."

“PROUD FOR US”

“4 thousand tons of mud will be removed in 280 years. As far as we can see on the map, we will have solved almost 70-75 percent of the mud deposit, which now extends to the Golden Horn Bridge. This will continue. We are designing this in the 4-year service period, but this will continue. Also here, İSTAÇ works on the possibility of increasing this with double shifts. It is nice to be systematic, sustainable and technology native. Particularly separation processes inside. The local company is a major complement to the mechanical part here. It is also proud of us to analyze the business with such solidarity. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the past and present. ”

55 DRINKABLE WATER WILL FLOW WITHOUT HISTORICAL FOUNTAIN

İmamoğlu turned his course to Eminönü after Eyüpsultan. Disembarking from his vehicle in front of the New Mosque, İmamoğlu inspected the streets and avenues of the historical peninsula that were empty due to the curfew. The last stop of İmamoğlu during the day was the historical 30rd Ahmet Fountain in Sultanahmet Square, which has not flowed for nearly 3 years. İmamoğlu received information from General Manager Raif Mermutlu about the historical fountain where İSKİ connected water years later. Mermutlu gave the good news that they will bring a total of 23 historical fountains in different points of the city, 55 of which are under restoration. Washing his face in the fountain that reaches the water, İmamoğlu received information from the authorities, and with Nevin Taş, the headman of Cankurtaran District, which houses the historical building. sohbet did. Stating that his childhood passed in the region, Taş shared the information that the water of the historical fountain has not flowed for about 30 years. İmamoğlu said to Taş, “Let's distribute sherbet here under your leadership. It has been applied before. Let there be no fountain left to us by our ancestors. Everybody benefit from there. Let the tourists drink. We will also announce that it is potable water. Tomorrow the next day, I hope these days will become normal and we will put promotional brochures in hotels ”.

Imamoglu completed the Historical Peninsula study in Sarayburnu by walking through Gülhane Park.
