Between March 23 and May 7, 2020, school guidance and psychological counseling services and guidance and research centers provided guidance services to 7 million students and 5,5 million parents. The guidance and psychological counseling services provided by the educational institutions and guidance teachers working in the guidance and research centers, as a group and individually, were processed into the e-Guidance system day by day. According to some data from the e-Guidance system, coping with stress, healthy life, and psychosocial support program took the first place in the group activities within the preventive preventive scope. Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Kocaeli were the first 4 cities to reach the highest number of students in stress coping skills and healthy living. While the most studied topics in educational guidance services were time management and motivation, the introduction of vocational guidance in vocational guidance and the issues to be considered when choosing a profession were at the forefront. Students individually asked for help with compliance, motivation and goal setting. In the guidance services given to parents as well as students, the issues that came to the fore were healthy living and psychosocial support. It was seen that the parents mostly asked for help in academic matters individually.

'We Put the Mobile Application into Service'

Evaluating the issue, Minister of National Education Selçuk said that while the students continue to support their education with distance education methods, psychosocial supports have been taken into effect one by one to keep the students and parents on their side in this difficult process. In this context, remembering that they have published separate guides in order to support the normalization of the anxiety created by the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance for students, youth and parents, Minister Selçuk said, “I am happy to see that the published guides are actively used in the field. In addition, by establishing a 'Special Education and Guidance Services Information Line' call center in 81 provinces, our special education and guidance teachers working in Guidance and Research Centers (RAM) support our students and parents by telephone. Last week, we put into service a very nice mobile application that we have been working on for a long time for our children who need special education. The mobile application was developed by our friends and enriched with content and made available for free. The contents will be constantly improved. Now, we are publishing our support book for our preschool and primary school children, which includes the characters 'Elif and Alp'. This book will not end in a single copy. Our friends continue their work. He will continue with the new series of the same characters. ”

Referring to the importance of psychological support and guidance services, Minister Selçuk said: “Our guidance and psychological counseling services are intense in order to support social emotional and career developments as a whole, with the academic development studies these days when our students are away from face-to-face education because of the Kovid-19 outbreak. continues in the way.
