Announcing the regulation, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that the importance of digital transformation once again emerged during the pandemic period. Emphasizing the importance of implementing the cheapest and error-free production model with the least resources, as soon as possible, Minister Varank said, “It is very important for our SMEs to gain competence by using experiential learning techniques. Therefore, as KOSGEB, we have created a new support. We will cover up to 70 thousand TL of education service expenses of SMEs that will transform their businesses by training from model factories. ” said.

OPENED IN ANKARA AND BURSA

The Model Factory project was launched in order to enable digital transformation of SMEs, encourage them to switch to lean production and enable them to apply experiential learning principles in their businesses. Model Factory, the first of which was opened in Ankara and the second in Bursa, is known as a competence center for common use.

IT IS UP TO 14

The Eleventh Development Plan covering the years 2019-2023 aims to increase the number of these factories to 14. Izmir, Mersin, Gaziantep, Konya and Kayseri are among the provinces where model factories will be established.

Model Factories, which are included in the macroeconomic policies of the state, also received support from KOSGEB. While explaining KOSGEB's support for SMEs trained in Model Factories, Minister Varank said:

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION: The Covid-19 outbreak created a shock effect all over the world. Although the reflections of this shock begin to decrease gradually, a period of changes will be waiting for us in every area. The importance of digital transformation once again emerged during this period of pandemic. Now, trainings are given remotely. Remote access to services is becoming more possible.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNINGWhile all this is happening, it is very important to develop a cheap and error-free efficient production model with the least amount of resources as soon as possible. With this model, which we call lean manufacturing, many theoretical concepts meet practice. Model Factories are very important for our SMEs to gain competence by using experiential learning techniques.

TRAINING EXPENSES WILL BE PROVIDED: For this reason, we have taken a new support decision for SMEs that will transform their businesses by training in Model Factories. In KOSGEB's Business Development Support Program, we have designed the Model Factory Support, the upper limit of which is 70 thousand TL. We will cover up to 70 thousand TL of service expenses of SMEs trained from model factories.
