Two metrobus collided head-to-head in Avcılar. Due to the accident, metrobus services stopped in two directions. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
In the statement made by Radio Traffic's Twitter account, “Two Metrobuses collided at 100 IBB Metrobus stations! Metrobus services cannot be made in either direction! ” The statement said.
Firefighters are trying to save the metrobus driver from where it is stuck. A total of 4 people were injured in the accident.
The metrobus, which formed a queue due to the stops, opened their doors. Passengers got off the vehicles and tried to move from the metrobus station to the station. Due to the crowd, the police and law enforcement agencies intervened to maintain social distance due to the covid-19 outbreak.
After the covid-19 recommendations of the Ministry of Health Science Board, social distance travel in public transportation started. For this reason, the fact that there were fewer passengers in the colliding metrobuses compared to the normal period prevented a major disaster.
