The interior area of the mire will be approximately 2 million square meters and a total of 2 million 400 thousand square meters of sea fill will be made. In the project, 65% of which has been completed, it is planned to commence production of base, sub-base and coating in March, 2020 in runway, apron and taxiway fields that produce dredging and filling. Infrastructure works of Rize-Artvin Airport, which is expected to be used by 3 million passengers per year, will cost 1 billion 78 million liras.

Rize Artvin Airport construction, which is planned to be completed by the end of this year, continues as uninterruptedly as possible despite the epidemic. However, the airport, which is planned to be finished on October 29, is expected to start operating in the middle of next year due to the coronavirus epidemic.
