Gundogdu stated that many measures have been taken and implemented in line with the decisions of the relevant ministries regarding public transportation vehicles within the scope of corona virus fighting, “Gets disinfected by public transportation vehicles, hand disinfectants in stations, taking passengers up to half the vehicle capacity, and public transportation of passengers. We have implemented measures such as wearing a mask on their vehicles, isolating drivers with a temporary cabin, and using a mask. While providing the best public transportation services with these studies, on Thursday, April 9, the Provincial Health Directorate stated that there were positive cases among the drivers, and expressed their opinion on a general screening. Subsequently, on Friday, April 10, the Health Directorate started screening private public buses and all the drivers of the municipality. With the curfew applied on the weekend, screenings were suspended. On Sunday, April 12, the Provincial Health Directorate informed about two more positive cases among the drivers and therefore the drivers would be quarantined. With the decision of the Provincial Sanitary Board, around 850 drivers working in private public buses were quarantined for 14 days. As a result of this decision, 385 private public buses were out of service because there were no drivers. Therefore, the public transportation service provided by 615 buses in the normal time turned out to be compulsory to be provided with 230 buses of Kayseri transportation. ”
Expressing that a transportation plan was prepared with fewer buses and fewer drivers with the decision of the Provincial Sanitary Board, Kayseri Transportation A.Ş. General Manager Feyzullah Gündoğdu said, “On Monday, April 13, a transit transportation plan was made to use the rail system effectively, which will affect our passengers, which will go to their jobs at least, and in this direction, we tried to provide a maximum level of service by using all the available facilities. hours are determined again. In the areas with passenger density, it has been paid attention that there is no density in the bus by using vehicles with 18 meter bellows. It is tried to intervene quickly when the density is formed by keeping spare vehicles at the end points. General Manager Gündoğdu emphasized that they are working with utmost precision in order to minimize the problems in public transportation due to the fact that 850 private public buses cannot be used due to the quarantine of 385 drivers using private public buses and said that they expect understanding from the citizens in this process.
