In 1945, Yedikule and Kurbağalıdere gas plants and Istanbul and Anatolian gas distribution systems fed by these plants were transferred to IETT. Electric trams were removed from the expedition on the European side in 1961 and on the Anatolian side in 1966.

The trolleybuses, which were put into operation in 1961, serve Istanbul residents until 1984. Quality standardization studies carried out within IETT in 2011 were completed and ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certificates were approved by SGS. IETT also participates in the 'National Quality Movement' run by KalDer. In 2012, IETT buses are decided to be yellow and white checkered.
