Eskişehir YHT Station is the main train station of TCDD in Eskişehir. The station is used by TCDD Tasimacilik high speed trains. Eskişehir YHT Train Station is within walking distance of the city center and entertainment centers, and is often preferred by passengers from Istanbul, Ankara and Konya. There are buses and minibuses passing in front of the station and also a tram passes nearby. Alternatively, passengers arriving with YHT can rent a car at a cheap price from offices in the station or very nearby. It is possible to go to Intercity Eskişehir Bus Terminal by tram. In addition, it is possible to go to Bursa by train-connected bus from Eskişehir and to Afyon, Kütahya and Tavsanli by regional trains.
June 19, 1953, the first mortar was laid on the foundation of the new station building by the Minister of Transportation, Yümnü Üresin. The modern station building of Eskişehir, the construction of which has been continuing for a while, was put into operation with a local ceremony held on 4/11/1955. In this ceremony, the Deputy of Finance Hasan Polatkan, the Deputy of Nafia Kemal Zeytinoğlu, the deputies of Eskişehir, the leader of the State Railways 1st Directorate of Management were present. The principle projects of the new station building, located on a 3075 square meter area, were prepared by Professor Orhan Safa. It cost approximately 1.780.000 lira.
Eskisehir Gar Railway Museum
The museum, located in the TCDD Eskişehir station area, was opened to visitors in 1998. Architect Received an Award
2018 Eskisehir Orhan architect designed the high-speed train station project designer Uludag, "the Republic of Turkey State Railways Project Studies Department of Eskisehir opened a tender for the project of high-speed railway station. After winning the tender, Prof. Dr. We started the design of the project in 2014 with Architect Zeynep Uludağ. We finished the project in 2018 and delivered it to TCCD. We were inspired by the historical train station in our project. The current train line divided Eskişehir in two. We have designed a project that brings together both sides of the city and will be the daily meeting point of city residents. We applied to this contest because we thought the project we did was architecturally important. As a result of the voting made by the jury, our project became one of the 2020 works that were deemed worthy of an award in the 10 project branch. ”
