İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will present a 18 GB internet package to the young people between the ages of 20 and 4, who are under the curfew.
Within the scope of anti-coronavirus measures, individuals under the age of 20 were banned from the streets with a circular issued by the Ministry of Interior some time ago. In this process, a news came from the Metropolitan Mayor of Izmir, Tunç Soyer, that would please young people who can connect with the outside world and their friends over the internet. Metropolitan Municipality will present a 18 GB internet package to the young people between the ages of 20-4 who need to be supported.
The criteria sought to benefit from the application that will start in the coming days will be published on the website of Bizİzmir platform at the beginning of the week and applications will be received from here.
"We Can't Give You Your Freedom But ..."
Stating that our country is also under extraordinary conditions with the whole world, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer spoke to the youth in Izmir regarding the application and said: “Our young people who are forbidden to go out of the street perform almost all their communication over telephone and internet lines. I am aware that the quotas of the internet packages they use due to intensive use are exhausted before the end of the month and that the purchase of additional packages for families with low incomes is a financial burden. I know the best gift that can be given to you will be to freely go on the streets, meet your friends and have fun as you wish. But that's all we can for now. I wish that we will give our young people with limited economic conditions a monthly 4 GB internet package.
