As the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day gift, İBB Şehir Hatları AŞ made a playground for the first time in a ferry. After the coronavirus days, Istanbul children will meet with the toys on the Moda Ferry.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Şehir Hatları AŞ is about to complete the maintenance and repair of the historical Moda Ferry. During the ongoing works at Haliç Shipyard, children were not forgotten either. A playground was designed for small passengers to make a pleasant and enjoyable sea voyage at Moda Ferry. Wooden and handmade toys that will contribute to the spiritual and mental development of the children and foster their creativity were carefully selected and placed.
“WE WANTED TO SURPRISE OUR CHILDREN”
Emphasizing that it is the first time that a special area is reserved for children on a ferry, Şehir Hatları A.Ş. General Manager Sinem Dedetaş said the following about the children's playground:
“This year's April 23 celebration is even more meaningful. 100th year of the establishment of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. It is the holiday of our children who will continue our assembly and democracy. In this beautiful day, we wanted to surprise our children. Our plan was to meet our children and our ferry on April 23. However, due to the epidemic, we cannot do this for now, we are waiting for the next days with the same excitement. ”
Stating that they aim to make children love the sea and sea transportation, Dedetaş said, “We want our little passengers to get off with good memories from our ferry and want to ride again. We hope they like their toys when they see it. ”
EMEKTAR STEAM COMES FROM THE HEAD TO THE TOE
The veteran Moda Ferry, built in Haliç Shipyard in 1986, with a capacity of 500 passengers, is being overhauled. The regions of the ferry, which counts days to meet Istanbul residents, from the main deck to the deck, were renewed using 36 tons of hair. All engine room and machinery were maintained. Steering systems have been revised. The carcassing, ventilation ducts, insulations, glass frames, tree coatings, personnel living areas of all salons have been reconstructed. It was built by removing the ceiling and wall areas. The wooden flooring on the outdoor and outdoor decks and the indoor and outdoor seats were replaced.
ISTANBUL PEOPLE CHOOSE THE SEAT COLOR
İBB Şehir Hatları AŞ asked the residents of Istanbul with a questionnaire that organized the color of the seats on the Moda Ferry and the color of burgundy was preferred. The renovated Ferry-disabled toilet, disabled ramp and wheeled trolleys were added. In addition, a bicycle park was placed.
