The first aircraft to be delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces Command within the scope of the Meltem 3 Project is Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii A.Ş. (TUSAŞ) reached its facilities.
Agreement was signed with the Italian Alenia Aermacchi SpA in July 2012 by Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii A.Ş. The first aircraft to be delivered to the Naval Forces Command within the framework of the "Meltem III" project, which was signed between (TUSAŞ) and which includes the conversion of 6 ATR-72-600 aircraft to the Naval Patrol Aircraft, landed in TUSAŞ facilities to carry out its final tests.
Leonardo ATR-72-600 aircraft, which are known as passenger aircraft today, have been redesigned in a very different concept with the integration of related radar systems by TAI engineers and technicians. The aircraft, which will perform naval patrol activities for the Navy Command, will be used for search and rescue missions, as well as submarine defense warfare (DSH) missions.
TCB-751 will deliver the first ATR-72-600 Naval Patrol Aircraft to the Turkish Naval Forces Command after the final tests are completed.
