11 metropolitan municipalities, whose donations they collected against the coronavirus were blocked, issued a joint statement.
The Ministry of Interior, with a circular it published, has allowed the municipalities, which have been accepted as legal until now, to collect donations. He blocked the donations collected to combat coronavirus in banks, right in the middle of the crisis.
Citizens who could not go out due to the epidemic, who were dismissed or whose workplace was closed were victimized. 11 people from the Republican People's Party (CHP), who came together in the face of this unexpected decision, called for a false return.

“As the world and country, we are going through an extraordinary period that requires acting on politics. In the face of this great disaster of the age, we are aware that we have a duty to come together and act responsibly as all institutions of the public. In this sense, acting out of politics is not a preference for us, it is a clear obligation.
It is not only a public duty, but a conscientious responsibility to stop this disaster, to eliminate damage and to catch up with the victimization of the victims.
We set out with this intention and started a campaign at the request of our citizens who deserve all thanks. While doing our duty as mayors, we predicted that we could exceed our budget in the face of the magnitude of the disaster. Because we were facing an ongoing epidemic and we had to consider where the damage could reach and develop measures.
For this reason, we made a call for donation by relying on the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity, which made us one of those people and make us the nation on such days. Our nation, who has enough mercy to even give water to his enemy in Çanakkale, would surely catch up with his own brother, and we would certainly order to mediate this. However, while this entirely well-intentioned and sincere call began to find a response, our campaign said, “Can municipalities receive donations or not?” was stopped as a result of the discussion.
While municipalities 'accepting donations' is completely legal, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will put the application made by the municipalities within the scope of 'aid' for an unreasonable reason, it will not bring any benefit, and it will only increase the victimization of our citizens who are waiting for help.
We express this heartily: While new victims are added to millions of our victims, we are not in a position to waste the time when our people are waiting for a solution. We leave this to public discretion and law. We do not want this vulnerable situation to be used as a tool for political camping efforts.
We are not at all to calculate the political profit or loss that may arise after setting off with the intention of charity. Even if the victimization of our people is removed, no matter who will have political profit, it does not matter. As long as a whole country, as all institutions, let's not only put our hands, but also our bodies under the stone.
Instead of having a 'right-wrong' fight, it is our priority to take bread to the remaining without bread, to put enough money in his pocket without breaking the pride of what he needs, not to leave him hungry, to accompany his hard time, to meet his brother's goodness, to wrap our wounds together, to breathe each other, we have a sacred duty and an indispensable problem.
Therefore, as 11 Metropolitan Mayors, we are aware of our responsibility and we never want to engage in these discussions. In order for our country to get rid of this disaster as soon as possible, we aim to reach out to the smallest cells without any discrimination and to eliminate their victimization with other institutions of our state. It is our duty to catch up with the victims who want to see the state behind them on those dark days.
While leaving the unnecessary debate in question to the public's discretion and law, we want to know that we will stand by our people in the face of the epidemic that has turned into a global fire, and that we are determined to deliver all kinds of help to them. ”
