in Istanbul Commerce University and ASELSAN to reduce dependence on overseas railway sector in Turkey, domestic R & D activities to demonstrate solutions for the execution of a cooperation protocol was signed. Within the framework of the protocol, analysis and reporting on domestic railway main line signaling needs will be made by Istanbul Commerce University.

Reporting studies to be made as a result of the agreement reached with the protocol, Istanbul Commerce University Transportation Systems and Application Research Center Manager Prof. Dr. It will be carried out by expert lecturers under the coordination of Mustafa Ilıcalı.

R&D STUDIES FROM OUR UNIVERSITY

With the agreement reached as a result of the agreement, an important step is expected to be taken towards the use of high-tech domestic and national systems on TCDD lines. In this context, especially on rail communication infrastructures and smart city applications, scientific and technological researches and educational studies to be carried out by Istanbul Commerce University and ASELSAN, mutual use of laboratory, test and characterization infrastructures that will enable these studies, seminars, workshops, conferences, promotional activities. Organizing articles, producing scientific publications like articles and developing patents and utility models.

TL 2019 billion to TL 60 billion of public investment budget in 20,3 was dedicated to the transport and communications sector in Turkey. In the distribution of investments in this sector, the railway sector had a significant share of 37 percent from investments.

“LOCAL AND NATIONAL”

Particular attention is paid to the development of the railway sector and in particular high-speed train lines. In this framework, it is aimed to further increase the railway service capacity and line operating speeds in the future, and to decrease unit investment and operating costs, especially in passenger and freight transportation. At this point, the importance of the concept of “Local and Nationality” is emphasized and R&D studies are encouraged in this field. With the agreement reached between the university and ASELSAN, R&D activities will be carried out by producing local and national solutions that will reduce the dependency on foreign countries, in the railway sector.
