Izmir Metropolitan Municipality started mask production due to the coronavirus epidemic. The Vocational Factory, affiliated with the Metropolitan Municipality, aims to produce an average of 2 thousand masks per day with sewing instructors.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has mobilized all its units against the coronavirus epidemic. Sewing instructors of the Vocational Factory within the Metropolitan Municipality started producing medical masks. It is aimed to sew an average of 2 thousand masks per day with six trainers. Masks produced considering the hygiene conditions, Turkey will be given to family health centers and hospitals, especially Eşrefpaşa Hospital is the only municipal hospitals.

The Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) in the Vocational Factory was commissioned for the hand sanitizer. The hand disinfectant obtained through trial production was distributed to the employees of the Professional Factory in the first place. New productions will be placed at the entrances of the course centers within the Vocational Factory.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Vocational Factory Branch Manager Zeki Kapı said that the Vocational Factory's pastry and cookery instructors will produce food products such as pastry, pastry and wrapping, and deliver them to the field employees, especially the healthcare professionals of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Esrefpasa Hospital.
