As the elevators of İzmir Suburban System (İZBAN) are not serviced, a 'red label' is affixed, which symbolizes its use as dangerous.
While it is seen that the maintenance that needs to be done in elevators is delayed by 10 months in some stations, it was revealed that the life of the citizen was endangered. Due to lack of maintenance, the red label, which means 'the use of this elevator is inconvenient', has been affixed to İZBAN elevators, which must be carried out by the elevator companies assigned by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB). The maintenance of elevators used by disabled people, children and elderly citizens in all stations was met with the reactions of the people of Izmir.

The officials who gave information about the situation in İZBAN claimed that there was no security problem and that the reason for the red label was the changing elevator management. “This is a process.
