The Ministry of Interior issued a circular and announced that commercial taxis will be restricted to traffic in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

According to the statement made by the Ministry; “He sent a new circular to the 81 Governorships regarding Commercial Taxis within the Scope of Coronavirus Measures.

In the circular sent by the Ministry to the provinces, the main feature of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, which affects the whole world, physical contact, airway, etc. It was pointed out that the number of infected people and the number of infected people increased very quickly.

In the circular, it was emphasized that the most effective way of preventing the spread of the virus is to provide social isolation by reducing social mobility and human contact.

It was pointed out that in cases where social isolation was not provided, the spread of the virus accelerated, increasing the number of cases and the need for treatment, which also led to the risk of loss of citizens' lives, and public health and public order could be seriously impaired.

At this stage, the measures taken in the circular, which are stated to be taken in line with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and Science Committee, to prevent the spread of the virus by increasing the efficiency of the virus, and to protect the public health and public order, are as follows:

  • Starting from 30 on 2020 March 00.01, a restriction will be made according to the last digit of the license plate of the commercial taxis registered in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
  • From the first day of Monday, March 30, 2020, 00.01 to March 30, 2020, Monday, 24.00, commercial taxis with a single license plate number will be able to traffic.
  • After the specified hour, commercial taxis with the last digit of the license plate will be able to traffic. This determined system will continue sequentially for the following days.
  • In our provinces other than Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, the subject will be evaluated by the Governors and can be implemented by making decisions within the scope specified if necessary.

Within the scope of these decisions in the circular of the Ministry, the necessary decisions are taken promptly by the Governors and District Governors, in accordance with the relevant articles of the General Sanitary Law, coordinating the issue by informing the municipalities and the relevant professional chambers, planning / implementing the measures and following the issue by the law enforcement units, and preventing any problems in implementation. He was asked.
