According to the news of İsmail Arı from BirGün, it has been learned that nearly 300 workers working at YSE Yapı Sanayi ve Ticaret Şirketi, affiliated with Çelikler Holding, were kept under surveillance at Hasanoğlan Science High School Dormitory since the plant was not sealed a few months ago. A worker who did not want his name to be disclosed said in a statement, “They took a friend to the hospital a week ago and tested it. Then they said 'Your test was negative' and sent it to us again, that is, to the construction site. Then at night, the police and other officials called our colleague and said, "Get ready, we are coming to pick you up," and they quickly took our friend back. "
6 workers were taken to the hospital
"The officials do not give us any information," said the worker. Six of our friends were taken to the hospital with suspicion of coronavirus. After that night, they closed the construction site where we worked and a day later, with me, nearly 300 workers were brought to Hasanoğlan Science High School Dormitory. We do not know if there are any other coronaviruses in us. None of the officials of the company we work with are on our heads. They are said to stay on the job site. Here they measure our fever three times a day. 'Anybody around us with a troubled situation?' When we asked, the healthcare professionals responded, "There is nothing in any of you, you are doing fine".
Elmadağ Mayor Adem Barış Aşkın, CHP, also told BirGün, “As a municipality, we met the need for shampoo, soap and mask for the workers staying at Hasanoğlan Science High School Dormitory. We know that the coronavirus test is negative in some workers and we don't know any more. ”
“Our warnings were ignored”
TMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers (iMO) Ankara Branch President Selçuk Uluata said, “Unfortunately, our warnings were ignored. While struggling with a worldwide epidemic, the value of the minutes, the hours, the time passed is enormous. A more careful and fast process should be carried out in a business line, such as the construction industry, where it is difficult to maintain disinfection and hygiene conditions. The construction sites are ignored, acting as if there is none. ”
Reminding that as IMO they are calling for immediate action at the construction sites, Uluata said, “We demand that this call be implemented by all relevant institutions as soon as possible. As time goes on, we increase the risk even more in construction sites, just like in this event. Unfortunately, if necessary measures are not taken, we will hear more news like this. ”
