The double tariff that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has put into practice on the metro from 00.30:XNUMX on the night has attracted great reaction by the citizens.
Double fare tariff is applied in the night metro, which started as of 30 August 2019 by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Instead of a single boarding of 3,5 TL, 7 TL is deducted from the users' card.
The night tariff, which is started to be implemented by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, is held in the 20-minute expedition interval between the nights connecting Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday and before the public holidays. When the card is read for the passage through the turnstiles, which is the beginning of the night timetable, at 00:30, double pass fee is collected over the tariff that the relevant card is included.
The double tariff, which has been in effect for about 6 months, continues to attract great reactions from citizens. Stating that the double tariff pushed their budgets very much, the citizens called for the situation to be corrected as soon as possible. Citizens, who stated that they did not use the subways while going to the night business because of the double tariff, asked for the situation to be reduced to a single tariff.
