IMM increased the number of vehicles and voyages on the metrobus line compared to the winter months of last year. An average of 20 vehicles arrive at the stations during peak hours. Efforts are underway to replace 300 old buses with old vehicles.

IETT General Directorate, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), made plans in line with the needs of Istanbul residents on the metrobus line. Expeditions are made by taking into account the intensity ratio that takes place in the evening and morning hours. An average of 20 vehicles arrive at the stations during peak hours.

NUMBER OF TRAVEL AND PASSENGERS INCREASED

The number of vehicles and trips of the metrobus increased by around 8 percent compared to the winter months of last year. In the winter of 2018-2019, 906 thousand 258 trips were made daily, and the passengers were transported in 525 thousand 6 daily trips with 900 vehicles. Between 2019-2020, the number of trips increased to 972 thousand 427 on average. In 2019, the number of vehicles was increased to 535 and 7 thousand 160 trips were made per day.

STATIONS RENEWAL

On the other hand, IETT continues its improvement works on the metrobus line without slowing down. In this context, expansion and new evacuation bridges at Altunizade Station, construction of Zincirlikuyu station passenger entrance-exit area extension, passenger landing-overlap areas on the line, ground direction signs, Beylikdüzü and Söğütlüçeşme expedition frequency adaptation signalization applications were carried out.

300 NEW METROBUS TOOLS WILL BE TAKEN

President Ekrem İmamoğluNegotiations with companies are continuing for the renewal of the old metrobus vehicles in accordance with the instructions of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the decision of the IMM Assembly. The purchase of 300 new and high-capacity vehicles will be completed as soon as possible and will be available to the people of Istanbul.
